Public bug reported:
The AutoKey tray icon has an option "Enable Expansions". Whether this is
ticked or not the expansions are ALWAYS enabled.
The only way to disable the expansions is to exit the application.
I cannot provide a screenshot as apparently that won't work when a tray
icon menu is open. *shrugs*
