I was able to install your two packages today but unfortunately its not good news. Secure boot was already disables from my last kernel attempt so that was no problem, and your kernel was running as per.. mike-cooper@Max:~$ uname -a Linux Max 6.17.0-15-generic #15afaina1-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Fri Feb 20 10:24:49 UTC 20 x86_64 GNU/Linux
I forced a suspend, screen went black, but the only way I could recover was using the hard off/on switch on the computer case. Not sure what test I should have run for you, but if we try again send me a list and I'll send text files of results back to you. Unfortunately your kernel had another problem that I struggled with quite a bit when I first started Max up on Ununtu last September, and that is that I couldn't get ethernet to work, I could only link to internet via wifi. After a lot of time on that issue it turned out my only fix was loading Realtek's r8125 driver instead of your r8169. Don't know if you call that a bug or not since once you figure it out it isn't hard to find the right driver, but the folks who work on r8169 should be aware that is doesn't work on some systems. Finally I had a scary issue getting back to 6.17.0-14 because, on reboot. Whatever I did I couldn't access GRUB, I'd go directly to BIOS from esc. Turned out on my system the the file is GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE=hidden and GRUB_TIMEOUT=0 so I had to use. sudo grub-set-default 'Advanced options for Ubuntu>Ubuntu, with Linux 6.17.0-14-generic' then reboot which may not be recommended but works nicely. Let me know what else I can do to help out. Happy to be back on -14 for now where ethernet is working and I only need to turn Max on and off manually.
