There seems to be a possible workaround by not caching InRelease files.
I haven’t tested this yet and will update this comment once I have.

In /etc/apt-cacher-ng/acng.conf add the following line:
DontCacheResolved: .*InRelease

The workaround was first talked about in the Debian bug mailing list.
