Public bug reported:
After upgrading to Ubuntu 26.04 Beta, the icon size in the GNOME AppGrid
(GNOME Shell 50) is noticeably smaller than in Ubuntu 25.10 and also
smaller than the default GNOME 50 layout I have seen in recent
demonstrations from other distributions such as Fedora and CachyOS.
While this may be intended to increase screen density, the current
implementation introduces a usability regression.
This change results in:
Visibility / Accessibility issues: Icons become harder to recognize
in certain combinations of display size and resolution, reducing overall
clarity and ease of use.
Label inconsistencies: The reduced icon footprint causes aggressive
text truncation and misalignment, degrading the visual quality of the
shell.
Rendering issues: Some icons do not render correctly under these
conditions, further impacting usability. This did not occur in version
25.10.

P.S. I was hoping to solve this with an extension, but that in turn
presents other problems, and I think it's not just a matter of personal
preference, but something that could make AppGrid difficult for many
users. Best regards, and thank you for your work.
