This sounds like a classic Matrox G550 DVI + older mga-driver
compatibility issue where X drops the signal into power saving after
failing the EDID handshake. You can try a manual Modeline for 1440x900
and upgrade to the newer mga-driver (1.9+) or force proper monitor
detection in xorg.conf RBTV77 APK https://rbtv77free.app/rbtv77-for-ios/
to restore DVI output stability.
