Oh I forgot the Nvidia-470 driver can't use newer kernels. For a machine like this I would stick to the 6.8 kernel as mentioned in comment #2. Unfortunately that's not easy to do if you start at 24.04.2.
The easiest way to stay on kernel 6.8 would be to install the original 24.04.0 release: https://old-releases.ubuntu.com/releases/24.04/ubuntu-24.04-desktop- amd64.iso ** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers-470 (Ubuntu) Status: Won't Fix => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2152096 Title: No Nvidia-470 kernel driver loaded for 6.14.0-36.36 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-hwe-6.14/+bug/2152096/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
