Public bug reported:

Expected Behavior:
When "Do Not Disturb" mode is turned off in the top panel notification menu,
the application badges (unread count indicators) and running application
indicators on the Ubuntu Dock should restore their normal state and synchronize
correctly.

Actual Behavior:
After turning off "Do Not Disturb" mode, the icon badges and dynamic indicators
on the Ubuntu Dock completely disappear, break, or get stuck. The dock fails to
redraw the missing notifications until the user manually triggers a shell
extension refresh or resets the dconf database.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a few applications that generate notification badges (e.g., Discord,
Thunderbird, or native apps).
2. Click on the clock/calendar menu in the top panel and toggle "Do Not
Disturb" to ON.
3. Wait for new background notifications to register or interact with the
system.
4. Open the top panel menu again and toggle "Do Not Disturb" to OFF.
5. Notice that the application indicators and badges on the Ubuntu Dock vanish
or fail to update.

Temporary Workaround:
The issue can be temporarily resolved by forcing the extension to reload via:
gnome-extensions disable [email protected] && gnome-extensions enable
[email protected]
