More info on this. When I make copies of the desktop files in ~/Desktop I change the names. This appears to be part of the problem.
If I change the names back then the feedback works (for most things). It seems that the *filename* has to be the name of the window class that will open up. e.g. org.kde.dolphin.desktop (not Dolphin.desktop) firefox_firefox.desktop (not Firefox.desktop) thunderbird.desktop (not Thunderbird.desktop) Which is bizarre, given that these files (can) contain a StartupWMClass entry that defines this anyway. It also still doesn't work for windows opened by wine applications. Is this another Wayland issue (I was using the X11 desktop up to 25.10)? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2151178 Title: Launch Feedback not happening for Desktop icons To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plasma-desktop/+bug/2151178/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
