Public bug reported:
The culprit was the `nxp_nci_i2c` kernel driver running at 33% CPU
continuously in R state (visible in `ps aux` as `[irq/72-nxp-nci_i2c]`).
Unloading the module with `sudo modprobe -r nxp_nci_i2c` immediately
resolved the issue.
Workaround: blacklisting the module via `/etc/modprobe.d/disable-
nfc.conf`.
The driver appears to be stuck in an interrupt loop after the upgrade
