I got a report that this issue is still happening (on a Thinkpad P16s
Gen 4 AMD) even with the linux-oem-6.17 kernels 1017 and 1020.

I suspect that some of the upstream patches for this issue recently
merged into 6.18-longterm are missing from Ubuntu's 6.17 kernel?
