Adding some information to the record for others. Sorry this isn’t really helping to fix the whole driver/kernel problem in the Raspberry Pi/macb/mainline Linux kernel/Ubuntu 26.04 LTS kernel.
I applied the above workaround `sudo ethtool --features eth0 tso off sg off` on around 2026-05-15 (eight days testing) on two of my four nodes, no lockups on those two so far The control group, the other two, continued to occasionally freeze up. I think one of them two or three times and the other one once. Pretty light load. Not impressed! The workaround seems to work so today I applied it to the remaining two nodes. Presumably there’s a cost to disabling TCP segmentation offload and scatter-gather, in the form of increased CPU/kernel work? I don’t know how to estimate this. But at least they’re stable. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2133877 Title: Complete network hang on Raspberry Pi 5 with kernel 6.17 under load - possibly related to CPU frequency scaling To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-raspi/+bug/2133877/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
