Adding an x86-64 data point, since the existing reports appear to be on ARM
platforms (Surface Laptop 7 / Snapdragon X1E, Lenovo Legion ARM). Same Wi-Fi
chip, same kernel series, different platform — so this may help confirm the
regression isn't ARM-specific.
System

Platform: x86-64 desktop (not ARM)
CPU/chipset: Intel Raptor Lake-S
Distro: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS (noble)
Wi-Fi card: Qualcomm WCN785x Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) [FastConnect 7800], PCI ID
17cb:1107, on an M.2 slot
Driver: ath12k / ath12k_pci

Kernels tested (HWE track, linux-generic-hwe-24.04):

6.14.0-x-generic — Wi-Fi works correctly. Card present, interface comes up,
connects normally.
6.17.0-22-generic — Wi-Fi non-functional. No wireless interface available;
NetworkManager shows no Wi-Fi device; rfkill lists only Bluetooth (no Wi-Fi
entry, not blocked).
6.17.0-29-generic — (see note below re: separate display regression; Wi-Fi
status on this kernel not separately confirmed.)

Symptom detail / possible divergence from this bug:
On 6.17.0-22, my observation was that the card did not appear in lspci, lsusb,
or lshw -C network at all — i.e. it seemed absent from the PCI bus rather than
present-but-failing-to-bind. The existing reports here describe the device
being enumerated but ath12k_pci failing to fetch the board data file (failed to
fetch board.bin from WCN7850/hw2.0, qmi failed to load board data file:-2). I
did not capture dmesg from the failing boot, so I can't confirm whether my case
shows the same QMI/board-file failure or a different (bus-enumeration) issue.
Flagging this in case it's a related-but-distinct failure mode rather than an
exact match.
Regression summary: Last known-good kernel is 6.14.0-x; the card became
non-functional on the 6.17.0-22 HWE update. Reverting to 6.14 fully restores
Wi-Fi.
