In my 26.04 VM, I downloaded spice-vdagent Noble version 0.22.1 from :
https://packages.ubuntu.com/noble/spice-vdagent
And, was able to install the deb ; it warned me that it is downgrading
the package.
dpkg -i spice-vdagent_0.22.1-4build3_amd64.deb
dpkg: warning: downgrading spice-vdagent (0.23.0-1) to (0.22.1-4build3)
(Reading database… 295175 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to unpack spice-vdagent_0.22.1-4build3_amd64.deb…
Unpacking spice-vdagent (0.22.1-4build3) over (0.23.0-1)…
Setting up spice-vdagent (0.22.1-4build3)…
Installing new version of config file /etc/xdg/autostart/spice-vdagent.desktop…
Processing triggers for man-db (2.13.1-1build1)…
After this, changing resolution (2560x1600 => 1920x1080, and then 1920x1080 =>
2560x1600) wotks perfectly
So, proof is : it is exactly this package, version causing this problem.
