I confirme this. I run hardy alpha3. It works well on gutsy.
I have the same intel abg wireless card. I can connect to my wpa protected AP.
But I can't connect to an unsecured AP with hidden ssid.
I'll try with a RaLink based usb dongle soon, in order to know if this is a
trouble with ipw3935 driver or an other thing.
Using network manager, it stay in "connecting" state for a while. So I
just tried it using only iwconfig, and I can see this intersting result
in /var/log/syslog :

It show "AP denied association (code=10)". So I think that the card send
a wrong association query.
