I tested the staging package from ppa:canonical-x/x-staging (Mesa 26.0.8-1ubuntu0.1~ppa1) on Ubuntu 26.04 (Resolute).
**Environment:** - Hardware: Lenovo ThinkPad T490, Intel UHD Graphics (CometLake-U GT2, i915) - Monitors: eDP-1 1920x1080 + HDMI-2 2560x1440 - Kernel: 7.0.0-14-generic - GNOME: 50.1, Wayland session - Mutter: 50.1-0ubuntu2.1 (official, unchanged) **Results:** Issue 1 (flickering / EGL_BAD_ALLOC): ✅ FIXED - Zero `lock_front_buffer failed` / `error 3003` messages after installing 26.0.8 Issue 2 (gnome-shell SIGSEGV): ❌ STILL PRESENT, WORSE - Previously with the vanvugt PPA (26.0.3-1ubuntu1.lp2152207.1), crashes occurred every 1.5~3.5 hours - With 26.0.8-1ubuntu0.1~ppa1, gnome-shell crashed multiple times within minutes during normal use - Crash signature: `signal 11` at `resource:///org/gnome/shell/ui/init.js:20` - No `Unexpected non-NULL onscreen_native->next_frame` warning before crash (different from Issue 2 in the vanvugt PPA) - Immediately before crash: `libinput error: event processing lagging behind by 44ms, your system is too slow` I had to revert to the official Mesa 26.0.3-1ubuntu1 to restore stability (which has the flickering but does not crash). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2152207 Title: Failed to lock front buffer on /dev/dri/card1: gbm_surface_lock_front_buffer failed | Failed to query buffer age, got error 3003 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mutter/+bug/2152207/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
