Confirming on Ubuntu 26.04 LTS, kernel 7.0.0-22-generic, GNOME Shell 50.1, Wayland.
Hardware: Intel Raptor Lake-P Iris Xe Graphics 13th gen Trigger: Screen lock → unlock → within a few minutes gbm_surface_lock_front_buffer failed begins, followed by a burst of Cursor update failed: drmModeAtomicCommit: Invalid argument. Display goes black on next lock or idle. Recovery workaround: Ctrl+Alt+F3 then Ctrl+Alt+F2 back. Session survives. Also triggered by: suspend/resume and Thunderbolt dock disconnect.
