Public bug reported:
After installing nvidia-driver-595-open on Kubuntu 26.04 with Secure
Boot enabled, the NVIDIA kernel module was successfully built by DKMS
and signed, but Secure Boot rejected the module with:
modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'nvidia': Key was rejected by service
The system booted using only the Intel GPU and nvidia-smi failed.
The issue was resolved only after manually enrolling the MOK key using:
sudo update-secureboot-policy --enroll-key
and completing the MOK enrollment during reboot.
The installation process should provide clearer guidance or
automatically verify MOK enrollment status.
