Public bug reported:

System:

Dell Precision 3580
Kubuntu 26.04
Intel Raptor Lake
Realtek ALC3204 codec
PipeWire
KDE Plasma 6.6.4

Problem:

The system did not automatically detect headphones when plugged into the
3.5mm audio jack.

Expected behavior:

Plugging headphones into the audio jack should automatically detect the device.
Audio output should switch from internal speakers to headphones.
KDE and PipeWire should display the new audio output device.

Actual behavior:

Headphones were not detected.
Audio continued playing through the internal speakers.
No automatic output switching occurred.

Hardware information:
Codec: Realtek ALC3204

Additional notes:
The issue occurred on a Dell Precision 3580 running Kubuntu 26.04 with
PipeWire. The headphone jack insertion was not properly handled until manual
troubleshooting was performed.

Please investigate whether this is related to:

Realtek ALC3204 jack detection
Intel HDA / SOF audio drivers
PipeWire device detection
KDE Plasma audio device switching

Thank you.
