I'm trying to wrap my head around this ...
It seems that Ubuntu always end up only having lxqt-qtplugin-qt5 while
Debian at least in short history always is on lxqt-qt5plugin.
I read the removal by Aaron here as the inverse of what you have in Debian.
He wanted lxqt-qt5plugin gone because lxqt-qtplugin-qt5 has it.
While in Debian lxqt-qt5plugin is the one thing.

@Aaron, please advise how to deal with this in the
- short term (you might want to ask for lxqt-qt5plugin 1.4.1-3 to be removed
just as you did in the past I guess?)
- mid term (I agree wit Dmitry, if this is the same thing could your content
and delta be added on top of and using the lxqt-qt5plugin name? Then, once you
are ready for that lxqt-qtplugin-qt5 could be removed and the seemindly
reoccuring split would be gone away)
