Thank you for the update. Following my initial report, we have performed extensive testing and run multiple trials to isolate the issue.
We can now definitively verify that the sudden hard reboots are caused by an improperly created or misconfigured *EFI System Partition (ESP)*, rather than a kernel-space bug. During our testing, we verified that when the Surface UEFI firmware interacts with an incorrectly formatted or misaligned EFI partition (especially when managing boot loaders or reading/writing NVRAM variables), it triggers an instant, hardware-level reset without leaving any trace in the OS logs. After completely *recreating and clean-formatting the UEFI partition*, the system became perfectly stable, and the random reboots disappeared entirely. Given these findings, this issue can be attributed to the partitioning structure during setup rather than a bug in the generic Linux package. You may proceed to close this report.
