btw, I just triggered by that on do-release-upgrade from 2204 to 2404 with: 1) even having ssh.socket masked (I'd prefer to configure sshd directly) 2) existing /run/sshd (well, it did missing at the time of the first fail, but re-running `apt upgrade`/`apt install`/`dpkg-reconfigure` anyway triggered postinstall fail even with `/run/sshd` created.
