Fresh Ubuntu 26.04 LTS, snapd 2.75.2+ubuntu26.04.2. After snap install
alacritty --classic (which also pulled core22), all eight XDG folders
(Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures, Public, Templates,
Videos) became symlinks pointing to their own absolute path, e.g.
Downloads -> /home/USER/Downloads, making them inaccessible.
~/.config/user-dirs.dirs appears to have been rewritten during the snap
operation. Removing the links and running xdg-user-dirs-update --force
restores them. Does not happen with .deb installs. Symlink mtimes match
the snap-install completion time exactly. Reproduced by others on 26.04
with unrelated snaps.
