Public bug reported: Bluetooth keyboard and mouse lag, repeat keys, and sometimes disconnect during sustained CPU or ROCm/Ollama workloads.
The issue occurs with both: - internal MediaTek MT7925 Bluetooth - external ASUS USB-BT500 RTL8761BU It also occurs with Wi-Fi disabled and Bluetooth autosuspend disabled. rtla timerlat showed maximum IRQ latency of only 179 us and maximum thread latency of 1.66 ms. Simultaneous usbmon and btmon captures show 50-120 ms gaps followed by sub-millisecond packet bursts. The batching is already present in raw USB completions, before BlueZ processing. A highly similar report exists for the same Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and MT7925: https://community.frame.work/t/fw13-ryzen-ai-9-hx-370-bluetooth-laggy-when-system-under-medium-load/74190 System: - Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS - Kernel: 6.17.0-35-generic - CPU: AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 - GPU: AMD Radeon 890M / gfx1150 - RAM: 32 GB - Internal Bluetooth: MediaTek MT7925 - External test adapter: ASUS USB-BT500 / Realtek RTL8761BU ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 24.04 Package: linux-image-6.17.0-40-generic 6.17.0-40.40~24.04.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 6.17.0-40.40~24.04.1-generic 6.17.13 Uname: Linux 6.17.0-40-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.28.2-0ubuntu0.1 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: pass CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Thu Jul 16 21:21:48 2026 InstallationDate: Installed on 2026-05-29 (48 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS "Noble Numbat" - Release amd64 (20240424) MachineType: Default string Default string ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 PATH=(custom, no user) SHELL=/bin/bash TERM=xterm-256color XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> ProcFB: 0 amdgpudrmfb ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-6.17.0-40-generic root=UUID=8a446dc9-62ac-4e82-adef-ec16b9dcac3a ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 RelatedPackageVersions: linux-restricted-modules-6.17.0-40-generic N/A linux-backports-modules-6.17.0-40-generic N/A linux-firmware 20240318.git3b128b60-0ubuntu2.27 SourcePackage: linux-hwe-6.17 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) dmi.bios.date: 12/15/2025 dmi.bios.release: 5.35 dmi.bios.vendor: American Megatrends International, LLC. dmi.bios.version: STXP3_F8_30_IEC0107_BI0005_AMI_65W dmi.board.asset.tag: Default string dmi.board.name: Default string dmi.board.vendor: Default string dmi.board.version: V1.0 dmi.chassis.asset.tag: Default string dmi.chassis.type: 3 dmi.chassis.vendor: Default string dmi.chassis.version: Default string dmi.ec.firmware.release: 1.7 dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnAmericanMegatrendsInternational,LLC.:bvrSTXP3_F8_30_IEC0107_BI0005_AMI_65W:bd12/15/2025:br5.35:efr1.7:svnDefaultstring:pnDefaultstring:pvrV1.0:rvnDefaultstring:rnDefaultstring:rvrV1.0:cvnDefaultstring:ct3:cvrDefaultstring:skuDefaultstring: dmi.product.family: Default string dmi.product.name: Default string dmi.product.sku: Default string dmi.product.version: V1.0 dmi.sys.vendor: Default string ** Affects: linux-hwe-6.17 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug noble wayland-session -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2161015 Title: Bluetooth HID packets delayed and batched under system load on Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-hwe-6.17/+bug/2161015/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
