Additional information: The attached Apport report was generated after rebooting into kernel 7.0.0-14 for testing purposes. The original crash occurred while running kernel 7.0.0-28 and has also been reproduced on kernel 7.0.0-27.
The previous boot's kernel log contained the following errors: BUG: unable to handle page fault RIP: kfree() Call Trace: eb_relocate_parse_slow [i915] i915_gem_do_execbuffer [i915] i915_gem_execbuffer2_ioctl [i915] The log also contained Broadcom wl driver messages during module initialization: wl_module_init+0x17/0xb0 [wl] getvar+0x20/0x70 [wl] Unpatched return thunk in use. This should not happen! The crash appears to involve kernel module compatibility issues, with the Intel i915 graphics driver appearing in the crash call trace and the Broadcom wl wireless driver also reporting a kernel warning. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2161098 Title: Random hard freezes caused by i915 kernel page fault in eb_relocate_parse_slow on MacBookAir6,2 (Intel HD 5000)acBookAir6,2 (Intel HD 5000) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2161098/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
