Public bug reported:
(i also posted this as a question
but i believe this is a bug
so i wanted to post here aswell
sorry for duplication)
ubuntu version : 24.04.4 LTS
kernel: 7.0.0-28-generic
device: huawei laptop
problem:
when earphone is plugged in, sound comes from laptop speakers and earphone at
the same time
when earphone is plugged out, there is no sound coming from laptop speakers
if i don't plug in earphone, laptop speakers work as usual. there is no problem
about that
but when it is plugged out, laptop speakers won't work until i plug in the
earphone
but if i do that, the sound comes out of both
i tried the things i can find on the Internet related to this problem
but they didn't work out, or i couldn't make them work out
(alsamixer, alsactl, pavucontrol etc.)
(i haven't tried the solutions that require editing files)
this wasn't the issue until the latest kernel update
i booted from kernel version 6.17.0-40-generic
now when i plug in earphone, the sound only comes from the earphone
when i plug out it, the sound only comes from the laptop speakers
which is how it should work, right?
