I can't reproduce with recent fixed kernels (k3-6.18, 7.2, and latest
spacemit 6.18 with latest device-tree). Do you think that we still need
to change the detection logic?

I think the missing extension was coming from the outdated DT, and then
it would have been missing from HWPROBE kernel report as well.
