Another datapoint: ubuntu 26.04 won't boot from usb, unless I edit the command line to add maxcpus=1. This is using a recently downloaded iso, with kernel 7.0.0-14-generic.
motherboard is a gigabyte b550 aorus master, bios flashed to F19a which results in cpu microcode reported as 0xa201030. amd64-microcode package has 0xa20102e so doesn't get installed. The difference apparently being that 0xa201030 has a fix for a microcode signing vulnerability. I don't think that detail is relevant, as the squashfs failures happened also before I flashed the bios. (I didn't check but with the older bios microcode 0xa20102e would have been installed). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2161482 Title: kernel squashfs multi-thread failures To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/2161482/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
