Public bug reported:
System:
- Ubuntu 26.04 LTS
- Kernel 7.0.0-28-generic
- GNOME Shell 50.1
- Wayland
- Acer Nitro AN515-57
- Intel Tiger Lake UHD Graphics
- NVIDIA RTX 3050 Laptop GPU
Steps to reproduce:
1. Boot Ubuntu.
2. Log into GNOME Wayland.
3. Suspend from the power menu or close the laptop lid.
4. Wake the laptop.
Expected result:
The desktop should return normally.
Actual result:
The keyboard backlight turns on and Caps Lock responds, but the internal
display remains black.
Ctrl+Alt+F3 does not switch to a TTY.
Only a hard power-off recovers the system.
Additional information:
- Reproduced with both nvidia-driver-595-open and nvidia-driver-595.
- Secure Boot is disabled.
- Suspend mode is deep (S3).
- journalctl shows the kernel resumes successfully from suspend, but the
display never returns.
