Follow-up from the original reporter, tested on kernel 7.0.0-28 as of
2026-07-30.

The firmware_autostart=0 workaround continues to work correctly on
kernel 7.0.0-28. On a clean boot both amps bind successfully with FW EN:
0 and no PUP_DONE_MASK errors appear in dmesg. Audio plays through
speakers normally.

One new observation: the left amp (spi0-CSC3551:00-cs35l41-hda.0) logs
periodic "Asserting Reset" messages during normal operation,
approximately every few hours and also on suspend/resume. The right amp
(spi0-CSC3551:00-cs35l41-hda.1) does not log these — it uses a shared
reset line ("Reset line busy, assuming shared reset" at bind time).
Audio recovers correctly after each reset and the behavior appears to be
normal runtime PM. No audio interruption is observed.

So the workaround remains stable across kernel upgrades. The underlying
fix (proper GPIO regulator mapping for SSID 10431A63 in cs35l41-hda-
property.c) is still needed to remove the dependency on
firmware_autostart=0 and restore speaker protection.
