Public bug reported:
On Ubuntu 26.10 (development branch) with gnome-shell 51~alpha-0ubuntu3
and kernel 7.0.0-27-generic, gnome-shell reliably segfaults when the
system suspends (lid close). The session is killed and GDM restarts, so
all open applications are lost. The machine is a Samsung Galaxy Book
(11th-gen Intel i7-1165G7, Iris Xe, i915), Wayland, s2idle.
Steps to reproduce: close the lid, wait, reopen. The system resumes but
lands on the GDM login screen with the previous session gone.
The crash timestamp matches PM: suspend entry (s2idle) exactly.
Backtrace of the faulting thread:

All frames are in libmutter-51 / glib; the gjs frames at the bottom are
just the normal shell startup path. Reproduced with all third-party
GNOME extensions disabled, so this does not appear to be extension-
related.
A second, separate crash occurs during shutdown/logout, in
meta_seat_impl_run_input_task under meta_context_destroy:

Six gnome-shell SIGSEGVs in the past 24 hours, coredumps available.
