We have a proposed fix for this in Tiling Assistant:

https://github.com/ubuntu/Tiling-Assistant/pull/462

On GNOME 50, the extension’s semi-maximize / move_frame placement path
was anchoring tiled windows by their center instead of flush to the work
area. The PR skips that path on Shell 50+ and uses a single clamped
move_resize_frame(). Verified locally on Ubuntu 26.04 / GNOME 50
Wayland.
