Public bug reported:

Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with the Bluetooth module on my new PC using
the Realtek RTL8852BU chip (USB ID: 0bda:b853). The Bluetooth interface
fails to initialize properly, rendering it unusable.

Hardware Details:

Bluetooth Chip: Realtek RTL8852BU (0bda:b853)

OS: Ubuntu Linux

Error Log (dmesg):

Plaintext
Bluetooth: hci0: RTL: rom_version status=0 version=3
Bluetooth: hci0: RTL: btrtl_initialize: key id 0
Bluetooth: hci0: RTL: loading rtl_bt/rtl8852bu_fw.bin
Bluetooth: hci0: RTL: loading rtl_bt/rtl8852bu_config.bin
Bluetooth: hci0: Opcode 0xfcf0 failed: -16
Bluetooth: hci0: AOSP extensions version v0.96
Bluetooth: hci0: AOSP quality report is not supported
When trying to bring the interface up (sudo hciconfig hci0 up), it returns:
Can't init device hci0: No data available (61)

It seems that the current driver implementation in the kernel lacks the
proper vendor command handshake (0xfcf0) for this specific USB revision
of the RTL8852BU chip.

Could you please look into adding proper support or a fix for this
controller in upcoming kernel updates?

Thank you,
Lukáš
