The problem has been resolved. I think I had some old software with a
library that would allow the -28 kernel to accept the driver but not the
-29. I have since done a clean install of 26.04 with just the currently
needed software and transferring some configurations from the old
installation. The iwlwifi driver now seems to work better and I was able
to install the driver for the usb wifi adapter. The other two adapters
are also recognized with no extra driver needed. The new driver is
aic8800.
