This report proposes the packaging of archspec for the Ubuntu archive. archspec is a standard Python library and can be built using standard Debian/Ubuntu Python toolchains (dh-python / pybuild). It is heavily utilized by conda to detect system architectures and expose them as virtual packages to the dependency solver. Native availability of archspec in the archive is a key prerequisite to enable packaging conda and its downstream tooling.
