> Maybe initramfs-tools should be marked as obsolete and conflicting to dracut?
That is already the case (well, it's dracut which has "Conflicts: initramfs-tools"). initramfs-tools remains installable instead of dracut due to the cases where dracut is not yet supported (e.g. Casper for the livecd installer) > which package is responsible that no grub.cfg is generated when a new kernel > is installed? Grub sets /etc/kernel/postinst.d/zz-update-grub. Kernel updates call that script after install. That should be independent of dracut/initramfs-tools -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2162931 Title: LUKS crypted root can not be opened during initrd To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dracut/+bug/2162931/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
