That's a good suggestion, but already implemented. Specifically, ubuntu-
release-upgrader (the package that do-release-upgrade uses to drive the
release upgrade) already forces the flash-kernel->piboot-try transition
when it detects the ubuntu-server-raspi or ubuntu-desktop-raspi meta-
packages in the install set (this was LP: #2151216). Interestingly,
though, it doesn't look like either of those is installed on your
system. Can you check with "dpkg -l ubuntu-server-raspi ubuntu-desktop-
raspi"?
If neither of those is installed, that would certainly explain why
ubuntu-release-upgrader missed this, though it raises another question
as to how or why neither is installed. Can I ask if this was originally
installed with noble, or was it upgraded from an older release?
I *could* tighten the test in ubuntu-release-upgrader to rely on
/proc/cpuinfo to determine if this is a Pi, instead of relying on meta-
packages, but we typically try and avoid that as it casts a wider net
(covering all flavours as well as Ubuntu itself). Still, it would be
valid in this case.
Re-targetting this to ubuntu-release-upgrader as this isn't an issue
with initramfs-tools.
