*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 2161309 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2161309
Confirmed fixed on this hardware with linux-hwe-7.0 7.0.0-34.34~24.04.1
from noble-updates.
This was the second half of the backlight regression: on 7.0.0-28 a
suspend/resume
cycle left the eDP panel permanently black (system alive over the network, no
i915
reinit in the logs, hard reset required). Nobody had verified this half on
affected
hardware before - the other reporter only confirmed the brightness half.
Verified now on ASUS N580GD (X580GD), Intel UHD 630 eDP panel, Kubuntu 24.04.5,
kernel 7.0.0-34: a full suspend/resume cycle completes and the panel comes back.
Journal shows the complete path:
PM: suspend entry (deep)
ACPI: PM: Low-level resume complete
PM: suspend exit
No i915/drm errors afterwards. This report can be closed as fixed.
** Changed in: linux-hwe-7.0 (Ubuntu)
Status: New => Fix Released
