I can confirm both. - any GTK4 app crashes _under x11_ (tested on UM and UU). I checked gnome-clocks, gnome-weather, gnome-maps, gnome-text-editor, Loupe, Showtime, Decibels. - once the GTK_IM_MODULE env variable is set as mentioned, all the above apps launch fine without crashing.
