Thanks Rik, Stripping CFLAGS/CXXFLAGS fixed all 53 sse42 missing symbols.
The final link failure is an LTO side-effect from LDFLAGS. The builder also injects -march=x86-64-v3 into LDFLAGS. Because -flto=auto is active, lto1 runs with that flag and defines __AVX__=1 during code generation. In kernels/bvh/bvh.cpp:186: #if !defined(__AVX__) || !defined(EMBREE_TARGET_SSE2) && !defined(EMBREE_TARGET_SSE42) || defined(__aarch64__) template class BVHN<4>; #endif With __AVX__ defined, lto1 skips BVHN<4>, but libembree_avx2.a (bvh_builder_subdiv.cpp) still references it. Updated debdiff: - Strips -march=x86-64-v3 from LDFLAGS in debian/rules. - Patches bvh.cpp to instantiate BVHN<4> unconditionally. ** Patch added: "embree_4.4.1+dfsg-2ubuntu1.debdiff" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/embree/+bug/2161642/+attachment/6003086/+files/embree_4.4.1+dfsg-2ubuntu1.debdiff -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2161642 Title: 4.4.1+dfsg-2 FTBFS in stonking proposed on amd64v3 (command line broken in two lines) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/embree/+bug/2161642/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
