Almost there! =8-E The build ran for 1.26h and tripped right at the finish line.
Turns out GCC on the amd64v3 builder is too smart for us: when we stripped -march=x86-64-v3, GCC fell back to its built-in toolchain default (--with-arch-64=x86-64-v3) and quietly kept __AVX2__ enabled behind our backs. So when CMake passed -msse4.2 to compile libembree_sse42.a, GCC kept AVX2 on anyway, and sysinfo.h picked namespace avx2 instead of sse42. Need to explicitly tell GCC to stay humble with -march=x86-64: export DEB_CFLAGS_MAINT_APPEND = -march=x86-64 export DEB_CXXFLAGS_MAINT_APPEND = -march=x86-64 Updated debdiff attached.
