Several tools rely on the `distro-info` package to tell them which releases are available. This package just contains data, with no format changes. To keep the data in sync, distro-info-data changed to become a non-native package. This SRU is planned without an Ubuntu data change, because it is entangled with updating distro-info. [ Changes since 0.72 ] * Correct Debian codename Experimental to RC-Buggy * Support testing against the installed data [ Regression Potential ] There is a minimal risk for the ubuntu.csv since that hasn't been changed between 0.72 and 2026.08.20, but the correction of the Debian codename Experimental to RC-Buggy has the risk of breaking user expectation: * The distro-info test case needs to be adjusted to this change * dgit pushes to experimental tries to upload to Devuan instead of Debian (see https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1145095) This affects developers doing Debian development work on Ubuntu. [ Test Case ] Rely on autopkgtest to do most of the testing.
