rust-coreutils 0.12.0-1ubuntu2 (published on 2026-10-02) already fixes
this issue.
It includes safe-traversal-eoverflow-32bit.patch from LP: #2167794,
which switched safe_traversal to rustix with 64-bit getdents64.
Tested on an armhf container under 26.10:
Upgrading rust-coreutils to 0.12.0-1ubuntu2 and running apt install for
openssl, curl, and ca-certificates (including all 25 dependencies from comment
#0) completes cleanly with exit status 0. Directory cleanup in
/var/lib/dpkg/tmp.ci succeeds without errors.
This bug can be closed as Fix Released in 0.12.0-1ubuntu2 or marked as
duplicate of LP: #2167794.
