Public bug reported:
Since upgrading to Ubuntu 26.04, GNOME Shell (Wayland) crashes repeatedly when
using the touchscreen, which ends the whole session (back to login screen).
Happened 4 times within ~30 minutes on a Fujitsu LIFEBOOK T939 (convertible).
Steps:
1. Use the touchscreen to interact with apps (e.g. tap a
link/notification/dock
icon that activates another window)
2. gnome-shell segfaults, session is lost
Backtrace (symbolized via debuginfod):
#6 touch_can_grab_surface (touch_info=..., surface=...) at
../src/wayland/meta-wayland-touch.c:659
#7 meta_wayland_touch_find_grab_sequence (surface=..., serial=1221) at
../src/wayland/meta-wayland-touch.c:691
#8 meta_wayland_seat_get_grab_info (require_pressed=0) at
../src/wayland/meta-wayland-seat.c:609
#9 token_can_activate (token=...) at
../src/wayland/meta-wayland-activation.c:307
#10 maybe_activate (token_str="..._TIME0") at
../src/wayland/meta-wayland-activation.c:355
#11 activation_activate () at ../src/wayland/meta-wayland-activation.c:459
So an xdg_activation_v1.activate request whose token was created from a touch
event leads to an invalid touch_info access in touch_can_grab_surface().
