above message says mesa 25.2.2 , but on my system it is 24.3, so i guess
snap/steam uses its own mesa.

I played this game this year in march flawlessly, steam count says 299 hours :)
I wanted to play again now in october, but :

- it seems some upgrade has lost my previous saves from march or
something erased them (no matter, just for info, i think there has been
at least one ubuntu snap upgrade of steam, else i have configured steam
for autoupdate)

- the game crashes sometimes at the first action, sometimes as late as
22 minutes after start !

I tried to lower screen resolution to 1920x1080 (16/9) instead of
2560x1440(?) it has no effect on crashes.

I tried on my laptop, it works like a charm (but the screen is so small
that i don't play there)

I have no more ideas, maybe if i could change the mesa version used by
steam for an older one ?

** Affects: steam (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New

** Summary changed:

- Civilization crash in 1 to 20 min. Worked flawlessly 6 monthes ago.
+ CivilizationV crashes in 1 to 20 min. Worked flawlessly 6 monthes ago.
