Public bug reported:

Hardware / software
- Laptop: HP Victus 15-fa2xxx (SKU BT6X5EA#ABE), BIOS F.04 (2025-05-13)
- GPU: Intel Raptor Lake-P (i915) and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Max-Q/Mobile
(open kernel module 610.57.04), PRIME mode: on-demand
- Internal panel: AUO 0xf7ad, 1920x1080 @ 144 Hz, on eDP-1 (Intel GPU)
- External monitors: 2x 2560x1080 (HDMI-A-1 on the NVIDIA GPU, DP-1 on the
Intel GPU)
- OS: Ubuntu 26.04.1 LTS, kernel 7.0.0-38-generic, GNOME on Wayland
- Kernel cmdline already includes i915.enable_psr=0 i915.enable_dc=0
- Kernel Ubuntu 7.0.0-38.38-generic 7.0.14

Steps to reproduce
1. Boot with the lid open and the external monitors connected.
2. Put the laptop to sleep (s2idle).
3. Wake it up.

Expected: The internal panel shows an image after waking.

Actual: The internal panel stays black. Backlight is at maximum
(96000/96000), the lid state is open, and the eDP-1 connector is
connected / enabled / dpms=On. The compositor still includes the panel
in the layout. The external monitors work normally. Re-enabling the
panel triggers the same error each time (5 times in about 10 minutes).

Kernel log
At boot, there's already a warning about the eDP link:

Notes
- The kernel is tainted by the NVIDIA module (unsigned module).
- Still to test: the older kernel 7.0.0-34-generic, tested and it didn't work

Title:
After waking from s2idle sleep, the built-in eDP panel stays black.
The i915 driver fails link training on eDP-1, but the connector still
  reports as connected and enabled.
