Public bug reported:

Hardware: Dell Pro Precision 5 16 PW516261, Intel Wi-Fi 7 BE211 (00:14.3,
iwlmld), BIOS 1.6.0 (also seen on 1.4.0)
Kernel: 7.0.0-38-generic, linux-firmware 20260319.git217ca6e4.1ubuntu, loaded
firmware c101 (c102/c103 present but not loaded)

The Wi-Fi firmware reports "Microcode SW error detected. Restarting"
many times per boot (14 to 118 per boot over two weeks). Usually the
driver recovers. Sometimes it does not:

iwlwifi 0000:00:14.3: Failed to get INIT_COMPLETE -110
WARNING: Hardware became unavailable during restart. (ieee80211_reconfig)
wlp0s20f3: HW problem - can not stop rx aggregation
WARNING: Driver is not allowed to fail if the sta_state is transitioning down
the list: -5

After that, the network is dead, and any process touching network
configuration blocks in the kernel and survives SIGKILL (NetworkManager,
avahi-daemon, geoclue, cups-browsed, the Cisco Secure Client agent).
Shutdown never completes, even left overnight.

Most recent occurrence: failure at 2026-10-14 04:43, shutdown started
06:45 and hung. Kernel log for that boot attached.

Bluetooth on the same chip (btintel_pcie, 00:14.7) also fails to
suspend: btintel_pcie_suspend returns -16.

I have also opened a bug report on Kernel.org Bugzilla:
