Public bug reported:

After upgrading from Ubuntu 26.04 LTS to 26.10, the internal speakers
produce no sound.

Hardware: Acer SFN14-55, BIOS BM_BI_MTL326_IN008A_L (07/22/2026)
Audio: Intel Meteor Lake-P, SOF SoundWire card, Realtek rt722 codec
Kernel: 7.3.0-9-generic
Topology: sof-sdca-1amp-id2.tplg (Topology ABI 3:29:1, Kernel ABI 3:23:1)

Symptoms:
- The sound card is detected and the Speaker is the default PipeWire sink
(volume 1.00, not muted).
- All ALSA controls are unmuted and at maximum (Speaker Switch, rt722
FU05/FU06, SOF mixer volumes).
- The speaker PCM (card0 device 2) shows state RUNNING with hw_ptr advancing,
but nothing is audible.
- SOF firmware 2.15.0.1 loads without errors, and apt reports everything up to
date.

Kernel error on every boot, triggered when WirePlumber opens the stream:
UBSAN: shift-out-of-bounds in sound/soc/sof/ipc4-topology.c:2471:13
shift exponent 18446744069414584384 is too large for 64-bit type 'long unsigned
int'
Trace: _sof_ipc4_prepare_copier_module -> sof_prepare_widgets_in_path ->
sof_pcm_hw_params

Not yet tested: headphones, an older kernel, other distros. Only kernel
7.3.0-9 is available in the repository.
