«Confirmed with sudo libinput list-devices immediately after resume from suspend: the HTIX5288 touchpad is visible to libinput (devices on /dev/input/event3 and event4) with full capabilities (two-finger scroll, tap-and-drag, etc.).
This confirms the issue is not kernel-level device detection or I2C re- enumeration: the kernel keeps the device, and libinput sees it. The problem is specific to GNOME/mutter on Wayland failing to re-attach the device as an active input seat after resume. In Xorg session, the touchpad works reliably after suspend.
