I discussed this with the Debcrafters team and it seems that bumping GNU coreutils to 9.12 in Tenacious shouldn't be a problem! I will prepare a merge proposal.
** Summary changed: - Please merge 9.12 into Tenacious + Please bump coreutils to 9.12 in Tenacious ** Description changed: The GNU coreutils version is getting behind the uutils coreutils version in such a way that users on Ubuntu are getting a different experience, depending on which provider of the coreutils they are using. - We should consider merging 9.12 into Ubuntu in order to eliminate this - discrepancy. This would mean going out-of-sync with Debian and we must - consider the pros/cons of this accordingly. + We should consider bumping GNU coreutils to 9.12 in Ubuntu in order to + eliminate this discrepancy.
