Hmm. oem-config (and ubiquity in only-ubiquity mode) start up their own
GNOME session, which is isolated (not deliberately, but for other
reasons) from the usual helpful things that the normal desktop
configuration would do. Looks like we have some more work to do; thanks,

Running 'fontconfig-voodoo --auto --force --quiet' should do the job,
although we still have to figure out how to reload the fontconfig
configuration on the fly; at this point, logging out and back in isn't
an option. However, this would be good enough for oem-config provided
that the default language remains selected.
